​Mission Statement
Some years ago, we launched a brand of Kiteboards with the slogan – “Nothing
Endures but Change” and it turns out it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Welcome to Shinnmark, where we have taken the opportunity to re-think, re-set and
re-new and though it may seem like a change, we’re doing what we’ve always done
– dedicating ourselves to the things we’re passionate about and 25 years later our
passion for kiteboarding runs strong.
Our commitment is to innovation without compromise—engineering kiteboards that
blend cutting-edge technology with eco-conscious materials, blended to improve and
enhance your riding experience - ensuring both performance and comfort ride hand
in hand.
At a time when our sport faces huge financial challenges we recognise that the
passion for time on the water is stronger than ever. We are as dedicated in
innovating new paths to the future of this sport than ever we were.

Who are Shinnmark?
Mark Shinn
Mark Shinn is a prominent figure in the kiteboarding world, renowned for his
significant contributions as both a competitor and an innovator. Originating from
Southampton, UK, Shinn began his journey in windsurfing before transitioning to
kiteboarding in 1999. His exceptional talent quickly propelled him to the top of the
sport.​
In 2002, Shinn made history by winning both the Professional Kite Riders
Association (PKRA) World Title and the Kiteboard Pro World Tour (KPWT) World
Title in the same year, a feat that remains unparalleled.  This achievement
established him as the first undisputed dual World Champion in kiteboarding. ​
Following his competitive success, Shinn shifted focus to product development within
the sport. In 2005, he founded Shinn Kiteboarding, a company dedicated to
producing high-quality kiteboards and hydrofoils. Leveraging his extensive
experience, Shinn emphasizes innovation and meticulous attention to detail in his
designs. ​
Beyond his professional endeavors, Shinn is known for his passion for the sport and
his commitment to advancing kiteboarding technology. His work continues to
influence the kiteboarding community, reflecting his dedication to enhancing
performance and usability for riders worldwide.​

Mike Birt
Mike Birt has been part of the Shinn family since its start. A resident of the UK’s
northern latitudes he's spent his life in the ocean from a young age. A professional
windsurfer for a decade he went on to become the UK’s first national kitesurfing
champion. With a career that spanned all the ages and it’s associated disciplines he
has been a good friend of Mark's on and off the water. Climbing the Woo ladder the
last years he’s sniffing on the big 3’O, wishing he had as many meters as he has
years on the clock, he’s still passionately invested in the sport on a personal and
business level.
The UK distributor for Shinn for the last 15 years, his love of the brand and it’s
unique design focus has prompted him to step up to help with the transition to
SHINNmark. With input in all aspects, he’ll be your primary contact for all day to day
tasks from logistics to technical, leaving Mark to do what he does best - innovate.
