Yeah, I've avoided the MTB centre for the last few weeks although the Off Piste trails are super busy and causing conflict with residents in some places. I am guessing its because all the trail centres etc in wales are closed at the moment. Oce you head out into the forest though it is generally quiet. We've been to Hopton a couple of times and the car park there has been over flowing... we parked in the other car park and there were 0 cars ....(local knowledge coupled with not driving too far meaning we can be bothered to do that kind of thing!) Peoples geographical knowledge is questionable. we were asked by someone from Birmingham where we were from, we said Hereford... their response was "oh i didn't think you were allowed out of Wales"!

Exactly the same kind of conversation I've had around here. My local trials are based in the Staunton "Bowl" I'd guess Abs you have probably been down here if in Hereford as many Hereford bikers do "cross the border" to ride them.

The trials cross the English/Welsh border sometimes mid run.

There were around 200 bikers up here a couple of week ends ago. Blocking sin locals and annoying them (I chatted to some and not impressed).

Put simply irresponsible behaviour pops up everywhere (you know the feeling Marc) and will threaten our local sites either water or forest.

The more users = more irresponsibility as its a pretty linear factor I'd guess.

One would have thought that outdoor users have a mutual respect for their environment and each other.....

Sorry I've drifted it a bit away from not only sessions but kiting too. My speciality.

yeah, been biking around Staunton for about 5 years maybe, know that's not a long time in locals terms but the difference between now and then is massive. We now park well out of the way and cycle in from the big lay by on the Coleford side of Staunton.

STRAVA has a lot to answer to. ;)

I do think there is the added issue of no lift sharing happening, as this is adding to extra traffic in these areas and parking issues.

However regardless to beach or forest etc, if its too busy turn around and if you're not willing to accept that then you've probably travelled too far!

I hope you guys get out on the water soon, in less crowded conditions and we will see you soon once restrictions are lifted and its chucking it down with rain ;)

On a different note..Liquid Force are pulling the plug on their kite business, I tried the kites two years ago and regularly since then (the rep is a long time good mate) and as much as I liked them (and him) we just couldn't commit time or money to the brand.
A real shame though and it does make me wonder if more will follow?

A pity about LF I liked the WOW and Envy however it seems maybe more money in 'mainstream' products such as SUP ?

I'm shocked to see what happened at Ogmore. What is our country coming to and turning into?

All I can think is that being furloughed means every day is a Saturday.

If this leads to a continuation of lockdown it could threaten businesses further. As always the minority not giving a dam and spoiling it for the majority.

I really don't recognise the UK at the moment.

Sad times.

It's only a few months ago the Police showed up in force - to rmove 3-4 surfers with Drones/Loudhailers/Riot Vans etc etc
last night no sign of the Police till it was way to late!

If we see a repeat of Ogmore we will no doubt see new measures/lockdowns and that will obv jeopardise our lessons restarting!

On another note, PLKB have new owners and are looking to build the brand with more innovative products, hopefully the prices will remain as competitive as they have been in the past.
Monday we will access to the new PLKB website with more information hopefully

Sounds interesting Marc, especially the bit about innovation. I wonder what the last true innovation in kiting was? The bow kite? Duotone claimed it was the Click Bar which is super nice but hardly a game changer! Maybe the new material from Ocean Rodeo?

So which brand is next?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Slingshot but only a guess?

Gusts topped out at 40mph here as well which is me maxed out on the 5, didn’t expect to be using it so much. Awesome conditions all weekend and today, with a decent “swell” and warm weather/waters just to top it off. Forecast looking awesome for this week.
