I'm on the same as you Dave - two 23kg normal bags with the classic ticket + one 32kg kitesurf bag. Think I'm going to be using most of that too! I'm taking..

TT, Surfboard, Foil
Carve 9m & 7m
Orbit 12m (and a 9m if it fits)

The place I ordered my Reals from has a supply problem and doesn't know when they will be able to get more

They say this happens quite often with Reals and a bunch of other places that were offering them are not taking orders now either.

Anyone else having problems or been able to get some already?

Looks like there are fee-free ATMs in Fortaleza airport so it shouldn't be a disaster if we can't get them in advance and would work out cheaper if you have a good credit or pre-load card.

Marc: just realised I might have misunderstood you - the £350's worth you suggested we take.. was that a sensible amount if we were paying by card whenever possible or if we were only using cash?

That's pretty much what we have (except it's listed as windsurf bag for the extra length)

I got mine but they took a couple of days longer to come in than promised (took 4 working days).
Will PM you.

So just to be clear: are people actually taking 2 hold bags + 1 sports bag? - sound like Jon is.

I was going to try to keep it down to 1 hold bag + 1 sports bag to ease transport while over there. But if others are taking 2 + 1..f*ck it - so will I.

Also:
Marc. Do you think we will be able to leave stuff (Coffin bags etc) at Xaina (or elsewhere) when we head up North?

For info:
I’m packing (or want to pack) 5m, 7m, 9m, 10m & possibly 12m (defo can’t get the 12 in if 1 +1). No kitebags.
Surf, Foil, Shinnster. (1 board bag for surf)
2 or 3 bars.
Pump, harness, etc.

I'm still hoping one board bag and one holdall...but may have to go to the two holdalls if I can't get everything in.
I really think 7 & 9 will be mainly used but taking the 12m Ultra as last resort foil saver.

Sarah has the 5m but the only place likely to need that will be up in Jeri and not sure we will kite that much there anyway....but if you can!

I'm hoping Neil will store our kit, I did mention this to him but need to remind him.

Buying the ticket through an agency been a pain, saved like £20 but they didn’t tell me no hold luggage included. Also inbound flight been rescheduled and took me 3-4 weeks to sort out the ticket, I could not deal with the airline directly, has to be through the agency to change the ticket. So I’m taking 1 surfboard bag, 1 carry on and no hold luggage. But I have been doing that most of my travel anyway!!
Carry on : all my cloths ( luckily no need wet suit this time)
Surfboard bag: 6m, 8m, 10m. 1 bar. 1 harness. 1 surfboard. Shinnster(maybe)
So luckily manageable without the hold luggages

fairfx.com have plenty of Reals in stock, pretty good rates and do next day delivery. Delivery is cheaper if you order more but it cost me £7.50 on £350 worth of Reals.

Eddie: presumably you can still do online check in via the airline's website? Would have thought they'd let you add a bag at that point..
