Good sun and low tide for a late afternoon session today, but I’m guessing not enough wind? How’s it looking locally?

I'm not local but it's 14-16 on the aber guage at the moment and it's nice enough out that a cruise around on a 12 could be worth it..

Further to that, I'm not sure it's worth it tbh

Please see James's post on the Covid 19 thread, not really sure I want to risk an injury and take up a bed for my stupidity while there is such a huge shortage ahead with hospital beds etc

Hi Marc,
Where is James' post?
Trying to work out whether kiting is too risky whilst trying to social distance and not put additional pressure on NHS if I hurt myself

Warnings from RNLI

I really would not want to be the kitesurfer asking for assistance right now

I agree Marc, imagine how the NHS will think of anyone injured after a kitesurfing accident!
It's hardly necessary travel going to the beach either. Might have to give it a miss for a while.

We ended up going Morfa beach for a walk as we never see anyone there, it was empty as expected however when we returned to Porthcawl it was absolutely rammed, the busiest we've seen it since last summer, the caravan park is heaving with people, many from outside Wales, no parking spaces anywhere etc etc

You'd think the very fact the government has closed the cafes bars etc would be a bit of an indicator not to go anywhere busy, no chance.
We are pretty much doomed in the UK going by what we've seen today.

This was at Newton beach that a friend who lives nearby just sent me...I've never seen it that busy even in the summer

Busier than normal up here too.
Maybe people are thinking it's there last chance before a complete lock down or are they just defiant?
89 more cases in Wales today apparently, you think that would make people stay at home.

Tenby South car park and beach pretty quiet but 10-15 kiters and windsurfers on the water during the afternoon, a reasonable swell gave some decent waves , a consistent wind and sunshine made for a great session...
