What is the scum like looking down the other end i.e. is it just in front of the dunes and the ex industrial land?

I’m going to rest later this afternoon also. Still very much learning and hopefully they’ll be a few others there.

Fairly new to the area. Thinking of heading out on Friday afternoon. I think it's neaps. Any ideas for a good session?

Cheers

Less worrying than the tides is the storm coming in from Friday, winds due to be 40mph and poss thunder etc
Unless you have a small kite and/or are sufficiently experienced I'd suggest saving it for another day.

The Boardmaster's event in Newquay has just been cancelled due to the storm

I've been a kiter since 2009 and I have a 6mtr RPM .. on Windy the forecast for Friday is looking like 20 - 30 knts so I was going to have a look at least :)

There was brown scum at Llangennith today too. Nothing like what there is at Aberavon, but definitely something unpleasant. It was most noticeable at Low Tide, so might be the stuff from Aberavon washed round on the outgoing tide, or maybe something else washing out from the river there due to recent heavy rain.

It was most concentrated at the north end of the beach where there was a 100m section that looked almost like an oil slick. I mentioned it to the person on the park entrance gate as I left, and will email too.

It's pretty windy tomorrow so hopefully it will work even though southerly.

Good afternoon of foil lesson at Coney today, flaaaat water and nice steady wind, perfect foil conditions really. 8-)
