Interesting . . . https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-56283514

I see there isn't an article on England, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the same sort of numbers. Every morning when I open our bedroom curtains, I can see a small section of one of the main roads into Bath and has the usual stream of in bound traffic

It may be because the definition of "Critical Worker' has changed and opened up travel to many more people than the first time ?

Critical Worker in Wales is basically anyone who works for the Government. So thats around 50% of the working population.

Oh and seems Mark Drakefull will take an intermediary step to unlock by using that highly successful "travel Local" approach of last year that then resulted in sky high infections in the valleys.

Evidence based polices....what were they again ?

Just about everything is critical now. I walked into town today for an appointment at the eye doctors and there is an antiques shop open in the Rhiw.

I live 8 miles drive from rest bay but if we go to a 5 mile rule again I’m sure there will be something I can say about needing to go to buy an essential ice cream seems as though the rules just seem to be a joke to everyone and only applied when they suit.

5 mile rule looks likely at the moment, for a few weeks at least

I work for the government and have a critical worker letter but I work just over a km from my office that I’ve not been to for just over a year.

Hardly any of my colleagues are travelling to the office but it does seem like every man and his dog is back on the road . I’ve only driven a short way from my house but some of the main roads are chocked and there is now a rush hour

Yep I looked it up so (as always) you are right James.

(as of March 2018). 387,500 people were estimated to work in the public sector, or 27.1% of the workforce.

I shall retract my original statement in deference to your knowledge sir :D
