W/Ending 17th November

Good stuff,

A characteristic I like about Rest; invariably you are not alone even in the week which greatly helps with safety.

See you there folks.

W/Ending 19th October

Think it's just the screw thread inside that is on it's way out as it seems to be opening there. Dont think there is anything wrong with bladders but I'm going to take them out check them all and make sure all the water is out properly this time. Are the valves easy enough to change ? Having done t...

W/Ending 28th September

Question - do jumps count if you don't land them ;-)

As per James' post above; my PB is if I walk away safe from a session in conditions like yesterday. Good steer on the unhook technique one I shall now use especially when windy.

Plenty powered up on the trusty old Renegade 5m with involuntary airs (landed some too yee ha) so who knows how Marcus held down a 9m. Secret pie eating?

What a great hooligan day.

Woah theres some dangerous updraft and gust fronts associated with that cell.

Thanks for the advice ref board rescue guys; I will need to practice a bit. It would be good to give back some of what has been received, and also likely to continue to receive at times.

W/Ending 22nd September

I wondered why it was so quiet at Coney yesterday, now I know why. A smooth 9m wind that dropped as evening came in. Some antics yesterday; dumped kite, lost board etc but all safe in the end. Need to learn how to carry a board. Marcus must be the expert on this matter ? Glad you guys had fun. Busy ...

W/Ending 1st September

Jayne was chatting to some visiting kiters who were raving about Rest. As you say Marc, its a great place and maybe we just become used to it. Super day today, just fun in the sun, no woo records or trick stuff (apart from you Marc in which Andrew and I gave you a 5 and 6 score, out of 100 that is) ...

Full package.

Just seen this and.....Gooooood news Smithy, I've been a little wing/yang at times but come to realise; not living on the beach (slow skills progress), other commitments (slow skills progress) but when you do hit the water again understand why this sport is such fun (smiles galore - emotional progre...

W/Ending 10th March

A rather gusty and knackering session in winds that charts indicated 40mph gusts. Broke out the old Renegade 3g 5m. What a lovely kite. For its size has a super range making it ideal in gusty weather as its good at absorbing those too. Dumped it in the surf after catching too much air under my board...

Arguments to keep the straps....

I've settled on a single front strap. "twisted ankle" i hear you cry. However the front strap is very very loose and used just for locating the foot and a handle (!). I find this easier jumping on the board when starting or deep water starting. Often in lighter winds the rear pad is too fa...

W/Ending 3rd March

May try an earlier one tomorrow to coincide with tide and lighter winds.

Hope its not a case of no wind then "boom" a gale.

W/Ending 27th January

Blew months of cobwebs away with a very quick session on a 5m renegade 3. Just as it was staring to ramp up. Thought " no way this will get me up and going" but its like a small rocket and faster than a Lambo. Sucks gusts well too. Kite went a bit square shaped for some reason. Lack of pre...
