I saw someone kitesurfing off penarth beach this evening and it looked lovely. Steady onshore wind, flat water with a 12m. Does anyone know who it was?

I was only the other day wondering why no one fly's there. There's always people sailing. I would have thought you would have to keep a close eye on the tide/current. Is anyone in the know?

My advice is I wouldn't bother, rocky at high tide and muddy at low, big currents etc etc

Besides the winds were all over the place today, we were on the beach with come jounalist from the Telegraph, Mpora etc trying to show them the joys of kitesurfing. We saw winds here go from East to South to West to North East and back to west....and 5-15mph and back to 5mph all with in a few mins, not exactly ideal conditions.

Check the arrows at top of this from Aber today
