newbie looking for a trainer kite

Postby Stoney » 08 Apr 2017, 10:52

Hi all,

I'm looking to get into kite surfing and will be getting lessons from blast. That's going to have to wait a while unfortunately due to a knee injury. In the meantime, I'd like to get a trainer kite so I can still do something while the knee is strengthening and hopefully get more out of the lessons when I do get to do them.

Does anyone have a suitable trainer for sale or have any recommendations for buying one? Having read a bit about them I think that to get the most out of it I should get a 3m with 3+ lines and a bar that can attach to a harness. Does that all sound right? I'm 6'1 and 85kg if that's relevant. Are there any brands/models to look at or avoid?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon and welcome to the forum

One like this is what we'd recommend but no need to wear a harness with this, the third central line is the safety and solo relaunch line.
3m should be spot on, no need to spend too long with one of these and indeed many people only need a few sessions with one, unless you want it for friends/family also

Duotone / Ozone / Epic / F-One / Shinn / Peter Lynn / Mystic / Airush / CrazyFly / Fluid / Blankforce / Axis

Thanks! I'll grab one of those then unless anyone happens to be selling it or anything similar second hand..
