Going Directional?

Postby Julez » 16 Aug 2016, 14:49

Hi,

A shout out to all those kiters who are on directional/strapless boards.

When do you think I should start trying a directional? I'm a beginner who can get up and go..heel but not tried toe edge and transition via 'bum in water' technique.

All thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.

Jules

I reckon you'd be better getting completely comfortable on the TT first, edging, going up wind, turns, first attempts at toe side etc etc
Then once your more proficient have a go on a directional, but only then, there is no real point in rushing it 8-)

Hi Marc

Cheers buddy good advice. Just thinking ahead really..in no rush as greatly enjoying the pace of progress so far.

Watch for those comedy face plants as I try toe side ..

I have fond memories of learning toe side on my mountain board. I couldn't figure out how to slide and stop and had my balance all wrong and went full speed into a bunch of parked race buggies. It hurt but I stopped
