Hullo!

New to the area having moved from Berkshire / Reading & hoping to meet locals & hopefully share sessions.
If you're planning on going out, gimme a shout :)

Cheers,

Cheers guys.

Been busy settling in and with work but excited to get on the water here. I checked Restbay out 2 weekends ago & also stopped by Coney beach.
I'm not sure about Ogmore or Southerndown. That river & tide... looks like there could be funky currents. Does anybody fly there?

Could I ask what weather station / prediction service you guys rely on for the area? I think I saw somebody also mentioning a cam for one of the beaches.

Hopefully, the move to Wales will get me as good as Marcus one day.

Theres a link at the top of the sessions page for the weather but it's also at the top of our website home page

HERE : http://www.blastkiteboarding.co.uk/weather

Regards Ogmore yes there are a few locals who kite there but it' does have it's obvious risks, river with extremely strong current, rocks directly down wind, no beach at high tide to launch/land from, pebbles most of the beach just under the water etc etc

You will def be better heading to either Rest Bay or Aber and joining others who will also keep an eye out for you

Doh! It's not a design flaw. I just didn't look when I quickly dipped in to look at the forum - thanks for that Marc.

Heya SavSav!

Thank for the company, just a huge pity about the wind dropping.
I did manage to have a little session on Saturday afternoon though :)

Hi Marcw, I'm a Bridgend resident too. Had a few lessons with Marc a few years ago, but due to work commitments I couldn't commit much time to kiting. Work has changed and I'm getting the itch to get back in to the sport. I need a "kiting buddy" to meet me and get me in the air etc. If that sounds like a plan, drop me a message (or any other beginners/kiters in a similar position). BB
