I am, though more chuffed to be injury free and not lost or damaged anything - I came very close to proving you right when you said going in strapless was a stupid idea
While I can see the benefit of having straps for certain things on a surfboard, I felt like not having them only made it somewhat harder to get going learning. I think today I spent most of my time trying to make up for not having them. It felt as if the foil was swimming under me as the kite, the deck and I drifted downwind. Grabbing the toeside rail with one hand while pushing away with my heels and controlling the kite with the other hand seemed to be the only way I could get into a starting position.
Hopefully I'll be able to put the straps back on soon anyway. Will ask the surgeon next week if I'm not in too much trouble for what I've been doing already
